All renters are subject to the following policies:
A DOT Helmet must be worn at all times during operation.
Zero alcohol consumption permitted (no exceptions).
Renters must read and sign a liability release and rental agreement.
Traffic & parking violations are the responsibility of the renter. Undeclared parking tickets will be charged to the renter and will include an additional $40.00 processing fee.
The motorcycle must be returned clean enough to perform a full inspection or the security deposit will be held for 48hrs and an additional $25 cleaning fee will be charged.
Riders who are signed on contract are the only persons allowed to operate the rented motorcycle or motorcycles.
Reservation & Cancelation Polices:
A deposit of 50% of the total rental rate is charged to secure reservation at the time of booking.
The remaining 50% of the rental will be due 30days prior to pick up.
Cancellations prior to 30 days of reservation are subject to this 50% deposit.
Cancellations within 30 days of reservation are subject to 100% of rental.
Reservations under 4 days are to be pre-paid in full at the time of booking.
Date changes or cancellations within 30 days of a confirmed reservation are subject to a $10 administration fee.
75% of the remaining deposit from cancellations can be applied to future rentals.
Cancellations due to insufficient rental requirements are the renter’s responsibility and are subject to full rental charges.
Requirements and Licensing:
A valid motorcycle license is required for all motorcycles rentals and insurance coverage.
International driver’s license recommended for those not printed in English or French.
Renters should ensure their driver’s license meets Canadian standards otherwise an international driving permit is required.
Cycle BC Rentals reserves the right to refuse rental to a customer who does not have in their possession these requirements.
The customer must possess the required skills to safely operate the motorcycle they wish to rent and Cycle BC will rely on customers representations as to their riding experience and qualifications. Cycle BC Rentals reserves the right to refuse rental to a customer. Customers with a learners or novice license are subject to certain restrictions. (call for details)
Security deposits ranging from $1500-$3000 per bike are required for each motorcycle rental by way of credit card authorization only.
Any applicable insurance is subject to the terms and conditions of the insurance policy applicable to the motorcycle rented.
Breakdown/Accident Policies:
The renter will be provided with contact numbers for 24hr support in case of any incident.
Cycle BC will be the primary form of contact for any incidents.
All BMW bikes are covered by BMW Roadside Assist which includes:
24 hour roadside assistance.
Mechanical assistance.
Non mechanical assistance, eg. Tire change, dead battery, out of fuel and key faults.
Vehicle recovery will be provided to deliver your motorcycle to a BMW Motorcycle Dealer, or intended destination if the vehicle cannot be repaired within an acceptable time.
Full coverage for Canada and USA
No off-road coverage.
All non-BMW bikes will be covered with BCAA Road Side Assist which includes:
24 hour emergency road side assistance within B.C.
25km of free towing or towing to the nearest service facility included (additional mileage charges are $2.50/km). Cycle BC will cover 25% of the additional mileage charges.
Delivery of an emergency supply of fuel (when available) to get your vehicles to the nearest service station (cost of fuel will be invoiced at current pump prices). If fuel is not available, towing provisions apply.
Battery boosts
Extrication or winching of a vehicle for up to one hour (including the services of one person and one tow truck).
No off-road coverage.
Use outside of British Columbia
The renter accepts the full cost incurred from retrieval for any bike traveling outside of BC*.
*Cycle BC will cover 25% of the cost of towing to the nearest service facility or to the BC boarder for travel in Alberta.
Flat Tires:
If you have a flat tire, Cycle BC will pay for 50% of the cost of a replacement tire and related shop labour to a maximum labour reimbursement of $25
All replacement tires must match the vehicle manufactures specifications and meet the Transportation Safety Board of Canada’s standards.
Patches and tire repair kits are to be used only in emergency situations and are not acceptable for extended riding. The renter must have previous experience and training with such kits. The renter accepts full responsibility and liability under such conditions.
