Our goal in creating our Rental Policies was to draft a fair and balanced document that could be used as a guideline throughout the rental process. We have done our best to attempt to view all potential situations from both the customer’s perspective and our own.

  1. A Helmet must be worn at all times during operation.
  2. Renters must read and sign the rental agreement, and liability release.
  3. Any rider of a rented bicycle must be at least 19 years of age, or have a legal parent or guardian present at the time of rental to sign a liability release on behalf of the minor.
  4. The renter must be qualified and possess the required skills and experience to safely operate the bicycle they wish to rent. The renter represents that they possess the necessary qualifications, required skills, and experience to safely operate the rental bicycle.
  5. The renter must provide a piece of ID at the time of pick up and provide security deposit through credit card authorization only.

  1. Payment is required in full at the time of booking in order to reserve a bicycle.
  2. Cancellations on city, path, e-bike or kids bikes made with more than 24 hours notice will receive a full refund.
  3. Cancellations on mountain bikes and gravel bike rentals require seven days notice to receive a full refund.
  4. No refunds or credits will be issued for early returns.
  5. Renters who do not provide notice of cancelation prior to the date for their rental will forfeit the full value of the rental, with no credit or refund to be issued.
  6. Cancelations due to the renter's failure to meet the requirements are the renter's responsibility.  Cancellations are subject to the full value of the rental with no credit or refund to be issued.
  7. Any changes to a confirmed reservation may be subject to a $25.00 administration fee.

  1. The renter is responsible to return the rented bicycle to Cycle BC Rentals in the same condition it was provided to them outside of regular wear. In the event of damage to the bicycle the renter is responsible for the full repair cost including any labour unless insurance (only applies to mountain bike rentals) has been purchased.
  2. If, for any reason, upon the return of the rented bicycle Cycle BC is unable to perform an immediate inspection of the vehicle, Cycle BC will hold the coverage deductible for a maximum of 48 hours or until there is an opportunity to conduct an inspection.
  3. The renter is responsible to return the rented bicycle to Cycle BC Rentals. In the event the rented bicycle is stolen or lost the renter is responsible for the full replacement cost of the bicycle including and or any accessories or equipment that were provided with the rental.

We understand that no one plans to get a flat tire, however through the indirect result of you renting the bike the flat tire would have not occurred if you didn't hit the object that caused the puncture. This is why we view the flat tire as the renter's responsibility.

  1. Upon request a tire pump and patch kit will be provided with rentals free of charge.
  2. Flat tires are the renters responsibility, the renter accepts all costs incurred to repair the flat or replace the tube.
