The Big Coastal Loop

Begin your cycling journey at the picturesque Fisherman’s Wharf. This lively harbor area is home to several shops, restaurants, and float homes, making it a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. Head towards Dallas Road which is a scenic waterfront bike path that offers stunning views of the ocean and the Olympic Mountains in the distance. Explore the quaint village of Oak Bay, discover the shops dotted along the avenue and stop for a drink at the Pennyfarthering Pub. Visit Government House which is located in Rockland, just north of Oak Bay. Government House is the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia and is set on 36 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and grounds. Finally, cycle to Craigdarroch Castle, which is located just a few blocks away from Government House. Craigdarroch Castle is a magnificent Victorian-era mansion that was built in the late 1800s by a wealthy coal baron. The castle is now a popular tourist attraction and museum, and offers visitors a fascinating glimpse into Victoria’s past.
