Select motorcycles can travel on non-paved roads under certain circumstances. We place these restrictions to keep our equipment in the best possible condition. Yes, although we abide by the same restrictions placed on your license by ICBC. For information on getting your motorcycle license in BC please visit ICBC. For further details on renting a bike for your skills or road test please visit our Learners and Road Test Section.
Yes, we offer secure storage for anything you would like to leave behind, free of charge. You can also ship luggage to our office before your rental to save money on your flight. Please get in touch with us if you would like to take advantage of this service.
We cannot deliver equipment to your hotel. We need the renter and, if applicable, the passenger to be present at the time of rental in order to fill out contracts. While you are at the shop, we can outfit you with proper fitting riding gear and make any adjustments to the bike so you can have the best experience possible.
We do not have after-hours drop-offs. We need a Cycle BC employee to be present to check you in and thoroughly inspect the equipment. We also want to ensure that you have had a great trip!

Depending on where you would like to start or end your rental, we may be able to provide you with one-way rentals. Please get in touch with Cycle BC to check on this possibility and to receive a quote on a one-way rental.
All of our bikes come equipped with factory or high-quality aftermarket luggage. For our Sport Touring and Adventure Touring bikes, the side bags range from 20L-35L, and our top boxes are all 45L. For our Cruisers, the side bags are typically 35L, and we have rear luggage racks with accompanying 50L top bags. If you need to know the exact size of the luggage on the bike you are renting, please ask at the time of booking. All luggage comes free of charge.
Yes, please check out our gear & accessories page for additional details. If you would like to bring your own GPS with mounting gear, a Cycle BC staff member will be more than happy to mount it for you.
Included mileage is 300km/day and 2500km/week. Additional mileage will be valued at 20c per km for the first 2000km. Mileage over the first 2000km will be valued at 40c per km.
All of our bikes are the latest models. At Cycle BC Rentals & Tours, we take pride in the care of our bikes so that they will be in the best possible condition for your rental. We focus on preventative maintenance so that you don't need to worry about such things as oil changes or tire or brake pad wear while you are on your trip. At Cycle BC the last thing you should have on your mind is worrying about your bike, this way you can enjoy the journey to its fullest potential.
Our insurance requires that you are 21 years or older in order to rent a motorcycle.
It depends on which country you are from. In Canada, your license must be in either English or French and have a valid motorcycle endorsement with an issue and expiry date (if applicable). We recommend you check with your local licensing offices before you travel to Canada to make sure.
Included with every rental is a tire repair kit, if a flat does occur we will do everything we can to get you back on the road as quickly as possible. Please refer to our policies page for more information
If you are from BC, you need to have a valid Class 6 or a valid Class 7/7L. However, restrictions apply with the Class 7 L license; please visit our Learner Section for details. If you are from outside BC, you need to have a valid motorcycle license issued from your place of origin. For more information on licensing in BC, please go to ICBC.
Given the nature of our business, our hours change throughout the year. We are open from 9 am to 7 pm every day of the week for our summer months. Our current hours of operation at listed on our locations page.
The two most important things you will need to rent are a valid driver's license with a motorcycle endorsement, and a credit card for a security deposit. Outside of that we provide helmets and gloves for both you and your passenger, complete sets of motorcycle luggage, and we rent out jackets and rain gear as well. Just don't forget to bring your camera!
