The Duffey Lake Loop is a thrilling and scenic journey through some of the province’s most stunning mountain landscapes. Leaving from the heart of downtown Vancouver the loop spans approximately 650 kilometers (400 miles), the ride features steep switchbacks, hairpin turns, and challenging elevations, making it a favourite route among experienced riders seeking a thrilling adventure. Along the way, riders can stop at various small towns and villages to refuel and take in the local sights and attractions.

It begins by heading north on the Sea to Sky Highway from Vancouver to Whistler. From there, riders will continue along the Highway 99 to Lillooet, known as the Duffey Lake Road, which takes them on a winding route through the Coast Mountains, past stunning alpine vistas and glacier-fed lakes. From Lillooet you’ll travel south to Hope down the Fraser Canyon chasing the mighty Fraser River. This section follows Highway 1, as it winds its way down the canyon, past towering cliffs and through narrow gorges. As riders descend towards Hope, they will pass through several small towns and villages, including Boston Bar, Yale, and Spuzzum, each offering its unique charm and local attractions. After Hope, you are on the final stretch back to Vancouver passing through the fertile farmlands of the Fraser Valley.

This ride is best done in two days, but it can be shortened to one day if you want to test your limits.
